Infinix, a tech brand aimed at young consumers, has partnered with UNESCO to host a two-day AI and robotics training workshop in Abuja, Nigeria.

The workshop, which was concluded yesterday, November 14, 2024, is designed to equip Nigerian educators with vital skills in coding, machine learning, and robotics, thereby enhancing STEM education across the country.

During the event, COGLABS announced the launch of an innovative mobile app that turns smartphones into powerful tools for AI and robotics education. This app allows users to train AI models using their phone's camera, code interactive projects with Scratch, and control E3bot robots via Bluetooth.

Joan Nadal, a UNESCO trainer and E3bot designer, emphasized the importance of accessibility in education: “We believe that technology should empower everyone, not just a select few.” She noted that the app represents a significant step towards breaking down barriers in STEM education.

Oluwayemisi Ode from Infinix highlighted the transformative potential of this collaboration: “By introducing this mobile app and offering hands-on AI and robotics training, we’re ensuring that STEM education reaches more young people in Nigeria.”

The workshop also introduces educators to user-friendly tools like Scratch and Teachable Machine, making complex subjects more approachable.
