Boniface, who transferred from Union Saint-Gilloise to Bayer Leverkusen, has had a successful start to the current season.

In his first three games for Xabi Alonso's team, the 22-year-old had four goals and two assists.

His outstanding performance earned him his first international call-up for the Super Eagles match against Sao Tome & Principe in the Sunday Afcon qualifiers.

Harry Kane and Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich are also up for the award, along with Boniface.

The six-man nominee list includes Jonas Wind (Wolfsburg), Kevin Behrens (Union Berlin), and Benjamin Henrichs (Leipzip).
