NPFL Announces August 31 as Kick-off Date for 2024/2025 Season

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has officially confirmed the kickoff date for the 2024/2025 season.

The league will officially start on Saturday, August 31, 2024, as confirmed by NPFL Chairman Gbenga Elegbeleye via the league's social media handles, including Twitter and Facebook.

Rangers International, champions of the recently concluded 2023/2024 NPFL season, intend to defend their title when the next season begins. The Flying Antelopes won their eighth league title in a remarkable way, capping off the season on a high note and earning a significant reward of N150 million.

Their victory not only brought glory but also strengthened their status as one of Nigeria’s premier football clubs.

Remo Stars and Enyimba finished strong second and third in the just concluded season, demonstrating their competitive edge and laying the groundwork for what promises to be another exciting season.

On the other end of the spectrum, four clubs experienced the disappointment of relegation. Sporting Lagos, Doma United, Heartland, and Gombe United will all play in the Nigeria National League (NNL) next season, hoping to return to the top division of Nigerian football.

As the league prepares for the new season, fans and clubs alike are getting ready for what promises to be an interesting season. The NPFL continues to grow in stature, with increasing competition and the promise of more entertaining football action beginning August 31, 2024.
