Israel Adesanya Has Described Nigeria as “A Very Corrupt Place”

New Zealander-Nigerian mixed martial artist, Israel Adesanya has described Nigeria as “a very corrupt place”.

He claimed to adore Nigerians, yet there are many warning signs regarding the nation.

The Last Stylebender was featured in the recent episode of the Hut Boxin’ audiovisual podcast.

Adesanya emphasized that the Nigerian authorities are eager to steal public funds.

He said, “Nigeria is a very corrupt place. I love my people but it is just that the government; everyone trying to find a way to siphon money.”

Recall that on April 9, 2023, Israel Adesanya defended his Middleweight title at UFC 287 by knocking out longtime rival Alex Pereira while sporting the Nigerian flag.

The Brazilian fight earned him $3.18 million, putting him the third highest-paid UFC fighter in the current rankings, behind Conor McGregor and Jon Jones.

It is his largest payout to date.
