Manuel Neuer, the goalkeeper for Bayern Munich, trained for the first time on Monday after breaking his lower right leg in December, a devastating injury that forced him to miss a significant portion of the previous season and the beginning of this one .

On Monday, Bayern also unveiled Daniel Peretz, a goalkeeper who has committed to a five-year contract.

Peretz is the first Israeli-born player to join Bayern, having joined from Tel Aviv side Maccabi. Speaking to the media on Monday, the 26-year-old said that he will aim to compete with Neuer and Ulreich to be given the number one jersey.

“I obviously want to play and will train as well as possible, to show the coach what I can do,” he said.
