Govt. Presents GHc50k to Ex U-20 Coach Sellas Tetteh

Ex Coach, Sellas Tetteh receives GHc50,000 cash from Ministry of Youth and Sports to help cater for his medical expenses

On Monday, February 20 2023, a delegation from the Ministry of Youth and Sports presented a cash donation of GHS50,000 to ex U-20 Coach, Sellas Teeth at his residence in Accra.

The Ministry, led by the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon Evans Opoku Bobie, made the donation on behalf of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to help cover his medical expenses.

Hon Evans Opoku Bobie, expressed his delight in seeing the coach in good health and emphasised the importance of the visit to ascertain the coach's health condition.

He highlighted Tetteh's significant role and contribution to the development of football in Ghana.

Coach Tetteh has been in recent trends on social media following his disclosure that the government had still not fully paid him for coaching the Black Satellites to become world champions in 2009.

In a recent interview, he appealed to the Sports Ministry and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to do their best to get him what he deserves.

The issue has been discussed on various media platforms, with a section of the public joining the campaign to get him paid.

A statement from the Ministry said the donation was made on behalf of President Nana Akufo-Addo to help Tetteh cater for the coach’s medical needs.
