In an effort to strengthen their team for the upcoming season, Arsenal has increased their pursuit of Jurrien Timber, a defender for Ajax.

Fabrizio Romano reports that the Arsenal are preparing a second offer for the Netherlands international after their initial £30 million offer was turned down.

According to reports, Timber, who is eager to play in the Premier League, and the north London club have reached a personal agreement.

The 22-year-old is Mikel Arteta's primary objective since the team's defense needs to be strengthened after the remarkable loss to Man City last season.

After rising through Ajax's youth divisions, Timber has now made 121 appearances for the team and has scored six goals.

He has 15 appearances for the Netherlands and is seen as a key player in the future of the national game.
