Concerns have arisen regarding striker Victor Osimhen's availability for the Super Eagles' African Cup of Nations semi-final match against South Africa.

The team announced on Monday that the Napoli striker is experiencing abdominal discomfort and has not accompanied the team to Bouaké, where Wednesday's match will take place.

"The members of the team traveled from Abidjan to Bouaké today via a 10 pm Air Cote D'Ivoire flight. Osimhen did not however make the trip due to abdominal discomfort," the statement said.

Team medics have stated that Osimhen is under close observation, with one medical staff member remaining in Abidjan with him. If he receives clearance by tomorrow morning, he will join the rest of the squad before 5 pm.

Although Osimhen has only scored one goal in the tournament so far, he has been a key performer for the Eagles. His partnership with Ademola Lookman and Moses Simon upfront has been instrumental in the team's qualification for their 16th AFCON semi-final.
