2023 AFCON: Onuachu Joins Super Eagles Squad, Replaces Sadiq Umar

Sadiq Umar, a Real Sociedad striker, suffered a knee injury during the team's AFCON warm-up game against Guinea in Dubai this week.

Trabzonspor striker Paul Onuachu will replace the injured Sadiq Umar on the Super Eagles' AFCON team, according to an official announcement.

Onuachu, who scored for his side in the Turkish Super Lig on Thursday, has been in excellent form since his season-long loan to Turkey.

Sadiq Umar, a Real Sociedad striker, suffered a knee injury during the team's AFCON warm-up game against Guinea in Dubai this week.

He will now return to his Spanish base for more evaluation.

The striker is the Eagles' third major casualty going up to the AFCON.

Wilfred Ndidi of Leicester City and Victor Boniface of Bayer Leverkusen have both been ruled out of the competition due to injury.
