Tribunal Sacks LP's Ngozi Okolie, Returns Ndidi Elumelu Of PDP

The tribunal ruled on Monday that Okolie was not officially sponsored by the Labour Party since he was not a member of the party on May 28, 2022, when the claimed primary was held.

The National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal in Asaba, Delta State, has declared invalid the election of Mr. Ngozi Okolie of the Labour Party as the House of Representatives as member representing Aniocha/Oshimili Constituency.

The tribunal ruled on Monday that Okolie was not officially sponsored by the Labour Party since he was not a member of the party on May 28, 2022, when the claimed primary was held.

The tribunal confirmed Ndudi Elumelu of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the February 25, 2023 National Assembly.

Elumelu, the former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, petitioned the tribunal to disqualify Okolie, who was proclaimed the winner of the election by INEC.
