The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Mr. Dele Alake, stated that the sponsors of the #EndBadGovernance protest were trying to disrupt the current government's efforts and were planning to attack the nation's democracy. However, Nigerians opposed this plan.

This response came after the Council of State meeting attended by former presidents Muhammadu Buhari and Goodluck Jonathan.

Alake described the protest as a deliberate attempt to forcibly change the government, rather than a peaceful protest. He emphasized that any change of government should be through the ballot box and not through violence or any unconstitutional means.

He also assured that all security agencies were ready to secure the country's territorial integrity and protect Nigeria's democracy.
