PDP Primary: 627 Delegates Set to Elect Party’s Flagbearer Today

Everything is set for the People's Democratic Party's Gubernatorial primary election for Ondo state.

Today, 627 delegates from the state's 18 council areas of Ondo state will choose the party's flagbearer for the November 16 election.

The delegates were accredited at the International Culture and Events Centre (The Dome), Akure.

Men from the Nigerian Police Force, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, and DSS supplied sufficient security, so it was tightly guarded.

The contest features seven of the party's governorship candidates, screened and cleared by the Senator Sam Egwu screening committee to participate in the primary election.

They are, a former deputy governor of the state, Hon Agboola Ajayi; former General Secretary of the Pan Yoruba Socio-Political Group, Afenifere, Chief Sola Ebiseni; a former information and orientation commissioner, Prince John Ola Mafo; Bamidele Akingboye; Adeolu Akinwumi; Bosun Arebuwa and a former House of Representatives member, Hon. Kolade Akinjo,

The seven-man Primary Election Committee led by Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, the deputy governor of Bayelsa State arrived at the voting center, and was already seated as at the time of filing this report.

Publicity Secretary, Kennedy Peretei, said that the accreditation of delegates commenced at 10:00 am.

Peretei requested that everyone who was not a delegate or who was not there on a business should stay a respectable distance away from the arena.
