Friday will see the decision made by the panel that heard the All Progressives Congress' petition and Adegboyega Oyetola, the party's candidate in the Osun governorship election on July 16.
On Tuesday, the notice that the panel would issue its decision on Friday was posted on a notice board near the entrance to the location where the sittings of the panel would take place.
Oyetola and the APC are challenging the Independent National Electoral Commission's return of Peoples Democratic Party Senator Ademola Adeleke to office.
On January 13, the parties before the three-man panel led by Justice Tetse Kume adopted their final written addresses.
Mr. Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, and Mr. Akin Olujinmi, SAN, representing the petitioners, argued that Adeleke should not have been returned as the poll winner by INEC because she did not receive a majority of lawful votes.
Additionally, they claimed that Adeleke's certificates were inconsistent.
However, in response, counsel for INEC, Prof. Paul Ananaba, SAN, Adeleke's counsel, Onyeachi Ikpeazu, SAN, and Dr. Alex Izinyon, SAN, representing the PDP, stated that Adeleke was legitimately elected due to the election's compliance with the Electoral Act and the Constitution.
They urged the panel to reject the petition and confirm his election.
