Osun Speaker Promises to Review Past Law

Adewale Egbedun, the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly for the eighth session, has reiterated that the Assembly will review the state's previous laws.

On Friday, while answering questions from journalists in Osogbo, Egbedun made this clear.

According to the Daily Post, the speaker was selected on June 6, 2023, Tuesday.

He had made it clear in his inaugural address as Speaker that the House, as a whole, intended to revisit and evaluate objectionable laws.

Additionally, he disclosed that he had instructed the Assembly Clerk to provide him with specifics regarding those laws.

He stated, "I have instructed the Clerk to come with all the necessary records and the bills," in response to questions. We will sit and ponder on it.y

"We know how it functions. We are in the PDP. APC led the previous administration. I realized that a lot happened between August 2022 and November.

The Speaker explained that it is necessary to complete the task at hand while insisting that the goal of the action is not to witch-hunt anyone.

"We must revisit and examine them. We are making an effort not to assault or witch-chase anybody, however we truly need to finish the work.

He stated, "We are ready to give it our best because we have the best interest of our people in mind."

Egbedun made it clear in relation to the Assembly's anticipated plans that he and his colleagues had a lot of lovely ideas for legislation, but they were looking for the right platform to make them a reality.

He pushed for additional time as he accepted his activity would talk better.
