Governor Ademola Adeleke has announced the formation of a Special Monitoring Team to investigate the intensifying distribution and pricing difficulties in Osun State.

According to a statement that was signed by Olawale Rasheed, the Osun State Governor's Spokesperson, the Special Monitoring Team will consist of members from the Nigeria Police, DSS, Army, IPMAN, NLC, and TDU and will be led by Kazeem Akinleye, the Governor's Chief of Staff.

The team will immediately begin monitoring the distribution of PMS from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) point of delivery to various Osun State discharge outlets, according to the statement.

Governor Adeleke assured that the state government will support federal agencies and private sector operators in their efforts to address the causes of the state's ongoing fuel shortage, despite expressing dissatisfaction with the hardships faced by the population.

“I urge the Monitoring Team to collaborate with independent marketers and the major marketers to ensure that products are distributed throughout the state.

We will investigate the fuel shortage. With our people going through so much hardship, we can't give up," Governor Adeleke assured.

The resurgence of fuel station lines, particularly in Osogbo, the state capital.

Since there was no product to sell, many fuel stations had to close and those that did had to sell it at astronomical prices.

Automobile owners, both private and commercial, lamented their ordeal and laid the blame on the government for failing to construct structures to cushion the ongoing fuel shortage.

They complained that they had to wait in long lines for hours, and some of them even missed business opportunities and lost money as a result.

Some even claimed that the upcoming general elections had created the scarcity with the intention of putting the masses through undue hardship and torture.
