The Ondo State section of the People's Democratic Party has approached the state Governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, to call the state security organization network otherwise called Amotekun Corps to arrange against supposed proficient wrongdoing by the agents of the corps .
Mr. Kennedy Peretei, the PDP's Publicity Secretary, said in a statement that the Amotekun employees had recently violated professional ethics in their work.
The PDP mentioned the alleged murders of two people in the state, one of whom was a teenager, in a statement titled "Akeredolu needs to call Amotekun to order."
"In the last two weeks, the excesses of the Ondo State Security Network, commonly known as Amotekun, have drawn tears from the eyes of several families in Ondo State," read the statement.
“Amotekun has been responsible for the deaths of two people in the month of May alone: a Federal University of Technology Akure student in his final year of economics and a 14-year-old boy whose stepmother gave Amotekun for "more punishment" for allegedly stealing N500.
“Frustration and misery have replaced the initial excitement and hope that the Amotekun corps will effectively stop herdsmen and kidnappers from roaming the forests and streets of Ondo State.
The families of the victims should not be allowed to let their tears dry before they receive justice. , indiscipline, recklessness, and lawlessness cannot run a society freely."
