Olorogun Bernard Okumagba, a prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State and a member of the NDDC's Governing Board, has congratulated Obong (Senator) Godswill Akpabio on his historic election as the Senate's 10th National Assembly's President of the Senate.

He praised Senate President Akpabio for his perseverance and dedication to serving Nigeria.

In a press release, Olorogun Okumagba remarked that Akpabio's victory occurred when President Bola Tinubu was retooling the government for the benefit of the people. He claims that doing so will help the nation's mission of excellent and progressive administration, in which the National Assembly, as the democratically elected representatives of the people, must play a significant part, regain the trust and interest of its population. Okumagba asked the Senate President to join this effort as a strong partner because the Senate is the body that speaks for all Nigerians.

A Parliament that will build on the legislative accomplishments of the 9th Assembly and serve the interests of the people is urgently needed, the former commissioner for finance of Delta state said. To justify the trust placed in them, particularly at this time, Okumagba urged Senate President Akpabio and the 10th National Assembly leadership.

Olorogun Okumagba reminded Senate President Akpabio that his emergence comes at a time when President Tinubu has committed “governing according to the constitution and the rule of law; to defend the nation from terror and all forms of criminality that threaten the peace and stability of our country; and to remodel our economy to bring about growth and development through job creation, food security and an end of extreme poverty.”
