Mr Peter Obi, the Labour Party's presidential candidate, has urged Delta State people to cast a large number of ballots for Ken Pela, the party's candidate for governor, in this Saturday's poll.
At separate rallies in Agbor, Umunede, and Asaba, the former governor of Anambra State made a speech.
There is no need for distraction since the people are tired of the APC and PDP-led governments, according to Obi, who said that pele is the people's choice who will liberate and bring peace to Delta...
He continued by saying that the Labour Party was the people's top choice to lead Delta State and that they wanted a complete reform of the political party system.
“If you are a true Obidient, and you truly believe in Peter Obi’s mandate, you will never give your vote to APC, because if APC wins Delta State, it will prove that Peter Obi didn’t win here,” he said.
He urged Deltans to cast their votes for governor in large numbers on Saturday, saying that when the righteous rule, the people are glad.
In his remarks, the governorship candidate urged the electorate to support all Labour Party candidates.
He stated that he will be able to defeat Sheriff Oborevwori of the PDP, just as the Labour party had previously defeated the APC and PDP in Delta State during the state's just concluded presidential elections.
The exploit of Peter Obi in Delta, he claimed, has given Deltans hope that they may finally achieve the change they have been yearning for the past 24 years.
“Our votes were like double of the next party, and even when you put the PDP and APC together, it wasn’t up to. We are very certain that at the next elections, we will do even better.
“More important is the fact that Delta State has been yearning for change for 24 years.
“Every election cycle, the people have been yearning for change and this is the first time they have been able to see that they can defeat the ruling party.
“The ruling party, the PDP is a shadow of itself, it’s divided into several parts. I am confident that we will thrash them a second time,” he said.
Pela claimed that his goal was to bring about a better Delta, one where justice, harmony, and wealth rule.
The goal, he continued, is firmly founded in the presidential candidate's desire to move Nigeria from consumption to production.
He claims that by upholding honesty, decency, accountability, fairness, equity, and justice, the Labour Party will establish righteousness in Delta State and governance.
He committed to eradicating waste and corruption, bringing transparency to government, reorienting it around the benefit of the populace, and ensuring broad public engagement.
He continued by saying that Delta State would be secure and that security personnel would be well-equipped to maintain the country's peace so that the good people of Delta State may rest peacefully.
Additionally, he pledged to build Delta State's best roads, provide quality healthcare, and improve kids' educational opportunities.
According to him, the minimum pay and remuneration for employees will gradually rise to N100,000.00 per month.
