Nwifuru Inaugurated as Ebonyi State Governor

Ebonyi will be more united through the instrument of democracy I am going to dwell in; says the new State Governor.

Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has been sworn in as the Governor of Ebonyi State.

He assured the indigenes of Ebonyi all inclusive government. The governor made the promise shortly after his inauguration at Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium in Abakaliki the Ebonyi State Capital.

He noted that his administration will touch all sectors to ensure the general wellbeing of Ebonyi people.

“Through the instrument of democracy which I am going to dwell in, our state can be more united”. He said.

David Umahi, the immediate past Governor of the State encouraged the people to respect the new Governor and the laws of the land.

The Swearing in started with a holy mass officiated by the Bishop Emeritus of Abakaliki Catholic Diocese, Micheal Okoro.

Recall that The Independent National Electoral Commission declared Nwifuru as the winner of the March 18 governorship election in the state.

Nwifuru of the All Progressives Congress secured 199,131 votes to defeat the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate, Dr Ifeanyi Odii, who pulled 80,191 votes while the All Progressives Grand Alliance candidate Prof. Benard Odoh scored 52,189 votes.
