Lt Col Agbu Kefas (retd), the People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for governor of Taraba State in the rescheduled election, has told the opposition candidate that there is no opening in the State Government House.

Given the PDP's victory in the recently held presidential and National Assembly elections, he expressed confidence that the party will maintain its hold on power.

Additionally, he based his faith on the state's ruling party exerting significant efforts to get Taraba to the promised land.

While accompanying two senators to get their certificates of return at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in Abuja, the gubernatorial candidate made the announcement.

The senator include Shuaibu Lau (Taraba North) and Haruna Manu), the current deputy governor of Taraba State (Taraba Central).

“Our great party, the PDP, will continue to shine. There is no vacancy for the opposition in the Taraba Government House because we have done well and promise to do more as we take the State to the promised land,” he declared.

“Our determination to retain power come Saturday, March 18, 2023, is a battle of no retreat, no surrender. Our theme is moving forward and as you can see we are already surging ahead in the poll,” he said.

The senators-elect stated earlier in their speech that they brought the gubernatorial candidate along with them to show their support for the party's triumph.

Manu bragged that the Kefas government would have the overwhelming support necessary to advance the state because of the PDP's domination during the legislative session.

According to Lau, the PDP is the only party that can ensure development in the state, hence he will work tirelessly to provide Kefas in the northern zone.
