After the ouster of ex-state chairman Oginni Olaposi, who was a member of the State Executive Council at the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), at its quarterly meeting in Abuja on Thursday, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Party appointed Prince Ibrahim Adekunle as Chairman the Caretaker Committee that will supervise the party activities in Ogun state.

Speaking at the party's state headquarters in Carwash, Adatan, Abeokuta, Kilamuwaye Badmus said with this development, the party will be better positioned for political success.

Prince Adekunle spoke shortly after taking office, saying that the Caretaker Committee would direct party affairs in the state and establish administrative structures across local governments and wards.

To this end, he says that party members must be prepared for congresses to come in order to usher in a progressive democratic atmosphere and help reclaim the lost glory of Ogun State.

He urged the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) and others to stop dealing with members of the defunct State Executive Committee led by Comrade Olaposi.

It can be recalled the national leadership of the party, through a letter signed by its secretary, Dipo Olayoku, has expelled former Chairman Comrade Oginni for allegedly misappropriating funds.

In an emergency meeting held Thursday, April 27th, 2023- the National Working Committee of the party expelled Mr. Yakubu and others from its membership for their alleged involvement in anti-party activities.
