National Assembly Clears Nyesom Wike To Become A Minister

Wike responded by saying:, “I accepted the offer to serve as a ministerial nomination because of my passion to serve Nigeria.”

Nyesom Wike, the immediate past Governor of Rivers State, has received approval from the Nigerian Senate to serve as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Wike has stated that he accepted the ministerial offer out of his love for the nation.

He said, “I accepted the offer to serve as a ministerial nomination because of my passion to serve Nigeria.”

During the screening, Barinada Mpigi (PDP, Rivers Southeast), a lawmaker for River State, supported him.

Mpigi said, “His Excellency former Governor Nyesom Wike is our best in Rivers State. He is our leader and role model.

“Distinguished senators, we employ that you should let him just take a bow and go.

“His resume is insufficient to enumerate the works that he has done.”

After approval, the senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio told Wike to take a bow and leave.
