Labour Party Suspend Hilda Dokubo For Alleged Financial Misconduct

Dokubo was allegedly accused of a number of offences, including financial misconduct, abuse of power, violating party regulations among other allegations.

Hilda Dokubo, the chairman of the Labour Party in Rivers State, has been suspended from the party in her ward, the Asari Toru Local Government Area.

The suspension notice was contained in a letter signed by the Ward Chairman, Mr. Ajalamonia Ibama, the Secretary, Mr. Lole Amacheer, the Treasurer, Mr. Emmanuel Ibamathe, and addressed to the Labour Party Chairman of the Asari Toru LGA.

Others who signed the letter were the Women leader, Mrs Osaki Dieypiriye, and the Publicity Secretary, Osaki Dokubo.The 54-year-old actress was reportedly suspended on Thursday after an emergency meeting of the party's ward executive committee on July 15, according to news reports.

Dokubo was allegedly accused of a number of offences, including financial misconduct, abuse of power, violating party regulations among other allegations.

The ward executives stated that the decision was made after an extensive investigation into the claims, which apparently uncovered significant evidence.

She is yet to respond to the allegations.
