Stakeholders of the Labour Party (LP) In the 17 council areas of Abia state, have voted to support Governor Alex Otti. During an expanded meeting that the governor attended, stakeholders gave speeches and praised his work in his 11 months as governor.

Aguocha, a member of the Umuahia/Ikwuano federal constituency, moved a resolution for a vote of confidence, stating that the Governor has exceeded all expectations in the 11 months since taking office, making the Labour party proud.

Hon. Munachim Alozie, member representing the Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency, seconded Aguocha's motion, which was met with a standing ovation.

The State House of Assembly Speaker, Honourable Emmanuel Emeruwa, called for a vote on the resolution, and it was unanimously passed.

According to several stakeholders, the purpose of the conference was for the party hierarchy in the state and council areas to become acquainted with the different government appointees, such as heads of transition committees and members of the State Executive Council, among others.

After expressing surprise at receiving a vote of confidence from the party leadership and other key players, Otti thanked God that people had noticed the "modest" accomplishments his administration had made in its short time in office.
