It Doesn't Change Food Price:Experts Tackle Tinubu Over New Anthem

Idongesit Udoewah

Experts have questioned President Bola Tinubu on the new national anthem, claiming that it has no effect on food prices.

In a television interview, political experts Jideofor Adibe and Sani Yabagi discussed about President Tinubu's first year in office.

Recall that early on Wednesday morning, President Tinubu officially adopted "Nigeria, We Hail Thee" as the new national anthem.

The experts called it "shadowboxing" and questioned the wisdom of changing the national anthem at this critical moment.

Speaking on the matter, Yabagi stated that he feels the national anthem was brought as a kind of relief for Nigerians in light of recent events, including the economy.

While expressing concern that the country's former national anthem, which has been reverted to, was written by colonialists, he stated that we are the pride of Africa and should not introduce attitudes or things that differentiate us.
