The mock accreditation, a prelude to the main event, is set to unfold in all three states this Saturday after INEC had thoughtfully arranged the mock accreditation for October 14 in polling units across these regions.

This exercise will serves a dual purpose which is to allows for the trial and assessment of the technologies to be employed on the actual Election Day, and to bolster voter confidence in the activities of the electoral commission.

During his visit, Chairman Yakubu made a stopover at one of the INEC offices located in Koton Karfe Local Government Area. The local Electoral Officer, Hassan Musa, provided assurances to the INEC Chairman that the local government was fully prepared to conduct the impending gubernatorial election in the state. Mahmood Yakubu stressed the importance of a collaborative effort with the security agencies and emphasized that all polling units must be operational by 8:30 a.m.

Continuing with his evaluation, the Chairman proceeded to one of the Registration Area Centres (RAC) in Lokoja, the capital city of Kogi state, to assess the ongoing activities at the polling units.

During this visit, a noteworthy occurrence was the successful accreditation of four registered voters at the RAC without any hiccups or failures in the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System.
