House of Representatives Extends Recess Due to Chamber Renovations

The House of Representatives has extended its recess period, pushing back the resumption date from April 16, 2024, to April 23, 2024. The decision comes as a result of ongoing renovations to the chamber of the House, aimed at ensuring its readiness for plenary sessions.

The Clerk to the House of Representatives, Dr. Yahaya Danzaria, issued a statement informing honourable members of the schedule change. He emphasized the necessity of the adjustment to allow for the completion of renovations, expressing regret for any inconveniences caused.

The statement urged members to make necessary adjustments to their schedules and ensure their presence on the new resumption date. Additionally, it encouraged productive engagement with constituencies during the extended recess period, while emphasizing the importance of safety precautions amidst current circumstances.
