Ex-NBA President Olumide Akpata Quits Law Firm to Join Guber Race

He is resigning Weeks after joining the Labour Party (LP) and declaring his intention to run in the upcoming governor's race in Edo State.

Olumide Akpata, the former president of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, has left his position as Senior Partner at Templars, a leading law firm.

Apata said he is quitting the company to help with the crucial mission of nation-building in a statement released on Thursday.

He is resigning Weeks after joining the Labour Party (LP) and declaring his intention to run in the upcoming governor's race in Edo State.

In a statement confirming his resignation dated August 24, 2023, the firm stated that Apata had officially informed the firm's management and other partners of his decision to engage in active politics. Following the firm's governance protocols, it was decided that he would resign from the firm as of August 31, 2023.
