Former Senator representing Kogi West and former gubernatorial candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Dino Melaye, appears poised to sever ties with the party.

In a cryptic yet pointed message posted on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, the outspoken politician criticized the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP, accusing the leadership of compromising the party's integrity.

In his post, Melaye stated, "End of the road for PDP as Damagun, Bature, and Anyanwu irredeemably destroyed the party. We will talk about the commercialisation and privatisation of PDP. PDP is now once upon a time." The former senator's comments suggest deep dissatisfaction with the current direction of the PDP, hinting at a possible exit from the party he once represented.

His remarks have sparked widespread speculation about his next political move, with many wondering if he might return to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) or explore other political options.

Dino Melaye, a seasoned politician, has held significant roles in Nigerian politics, serving both in the ruling APC and in the PDP. His departure from the PDP, if confirmed, would mark a significant shift in the political landscape, particularly in Kogi State and on the social media where he remains a key political figure.

As of now, the PDP's National Working Committee has not issued a response to Melaye's allegations.
