Kunle Wizeman Ajayi, the African Action Congress (AAC) gubernatorial candidate for Ondo State, has reportedly been arrested by the Nigeria Police Force. Ajayi, who is linked to the Take It Back Movement, was allegedly taken into custody on Saturday in Akure during a one-million-man protest addressing hunger and economic hardship in the country.

The Take It Back Movement, a human rights advocacy group, announced the arrest on its official X account, condemning the police's actions and demanding the immediate release of Ajayi and another individual, Patrick Owolabi, who was also detained.

"It's unfortunate that the @PoliceNG is yet to learn," the group stated, calling the arrest a "total shame" and demanding the unconditional release of the detainees.

As of now, the Ondo State Police Command has not issued any public statement regarding the arrest.
