Nigerians in Diaspora Commission spokesperson AbdulRahman Balogun disclosed the government’s efforts to rescue Nigerians stranded in Sudan, while also revealing its attempts to bring home those remaining.
Balogun also noted the evacuees' number grew from 26 to 200 around the time that Commission thought it was almost finished with its rescue operation.
Balogun said, “Those who wish to leave Sudan must get themselves to Port Sudan. They need a Nigerian identification card, and they have got an address in Nigeria and/or someone there you can verify that they know.”
The total number of evacuees from Sudan that have arrived in Nigeria totals 2,518.
