Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former vice president, on May 8 filed an application for an order to allow the live coverage of the daily court proceedings on the case they launched against the president-elect, Bola Tinubu, which commenced on Monday.
The PDP candidate notified the court through his attorney Chris Uche that all parties involved in the litigation had met and formed a team to coordinate and streamline crucial areas and components of the pre-hearing session.
In regards to the motion for live coverage of proceedings, Uche claimed he has not yet heard back from the respondents.
Responding, counsels to the president-elect and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said they were served on Tuesday, but informed the court that their responses will be available between Monday and Tuesday next week.
Additionally, all parties consented to return for the next phase of the pre-hearing of the applications on Thursday, May 18.
The PDP candidate's entry into court to hear his request for live coverage of proceedings was covered by Channels Television.
Among other dignitaries, he was accompanied by Liyel Imoke, a former governor of Cross River State; Bonny Haruna, a former governor of Adamawa State; Babangida Aliyu, a former governor of Niger State; and Uche Secondus, a former national chairman of the PDP.
Senator Dino Melaye, who is running for governor of Kogi State on behalf of the party, is also present at the pre-hearing.
The Allied Peoples Movement (APM)'s plea to challenge the presidential election on February 25 will also be heard by the tribunal.
