Following the election of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as president-elect, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta state, Chief Ayirimi Emami, has advised politicians and their allies threatening the country's peace to desist immediately, saying he has implicit confidence in the security agencies to deal with the trouble-makers.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Emami urged political parties and their unsuccessful candidates for the recent elections for the National Assembly, House of Assembly, and Governorship to refrain from encouraging protests and public comments in order to avert a catastrophe that might have been avoided.

He asserts that the judiciary has thus far demonstrated its independence in delivering justice ,” as judgments have gone in favour of the APC, PDP, Labour Party, and other political parties at different times.”

He added that the APC and its candidates have turned to litigation in states where INEC declared the PDP, Labour Party, and NNPP winners, and have avoided making divisive remarks. He emphasized the need for political actors to wait for the outcome of the tribunals rather than endangering the stability of the nation.
