Tinubu, Governors Convene Emergency Meeting Over Looming Hardship

The current economic situation in the country has led to a rise in criminal activities, increased friction in the political system, and protests by women and youths on the streets

President Bola Tinubu is in an emergency meeting today with the Governors of the federation at the Council Chambers of the State House in Abuja.
Vice President Kashim Shettima, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FTC), Chief Nyesom Wike, and Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun are all present at the meeting, which began around 11:30 a.m.

Although It was difficult to obtain a copy of the meeting's agenda, It was revealed that President Tinubu convened the meeting in an effort to find solutions to rising food prices, insecurity, and other economic challenges.

It was gathered that President Tinubu has directed his economic team, which includes all relevant government officials, to find a way to improve the situation. The Special Presidential Committee on Emergency has been authorized to make available about 102,000 metric tonnes of assorted items such as rice, maize, and millet, among other things.
