The Ebonyi State Police Command Rescued a Kidnapped Victim.

SP Onome Onovwakpoyeya in a statement in Abakaliki said, two AK 47 rifles and one lar rifle and two vehicles were recovered from the Kidnappers on 23 April.

According to report from the spokesman, Ebonyi state commissioner of Police, Faleye Olaleye, on April 23, mobilised tactical teams and operatives of the State Security Service (DSS), after receiving a call that a clergy had been kidnapped in the state.

Report says: “The kidnappers were intercepted along Ndofia Ishieke and Edupfu Egbu Ishieke in Ebonyi Local Government Area, And they have already abandon the victim trying to escape and in turn exchanging gunshots with the Police.

It was alleged the police public relations officer say that, one of the suspects was killed during an exchange of firearm while two principal suspects were arrested.

SP Onome Onovwakpoyeya noted that two AK 47 rifles and one rifle were recovered as well as two vehicles, including that of the victim.

The command warned criminals in the state to lay down their arms or leave Ebonyi state.
