Suspected armed thugs reportedly attacked the Labour Party (LP) Secretariat located in Ikeja GRA, Lagos, on Monday.

The attackers reportedly made away with valuables and a substantial, but unspecified, sum of money believed to run into millions of naira.

An eyewitness and staff member at the secretariat stated that the attack happened around 10 a.m., when a large group of over 300 suspected hoodlums forcefully gained entry and vandalised offices.

The alleged invaders reportedly stole sensitive Labour Party documents, electronics, and a large amount of cash during the operation, which sent staff and bystanders fleeing for safety.

Police personnel were said to have reached the location not long after the attackers had dispersed, with no arrests made at that time.

The motive for the coordinated attack was still unknown as of the time of filing this report, but the Lagos State Police Command has confirmed it happened and assured the public of a full investigation.
