It was reported that, the students are already raising concerns about how this situation may affect their performance in the upcoming examinations. It has been reported that the Mairi Kuwait community, where the university is located, has been experiencing a power outage for over two months, while the campus itself has been without electricity for more than three weeks.

Esther, a student from the Department of Mass Communication, shared her experience, stating that helpless students have been forced to spend approximately N500 daily to charge their phones and other electronic devices.

She explained that students residing outside the campus have been enduring this power supply issue for over two months, while those on campus have been struggling with it for more than three weeks.

Furthermore, the water supply has been affected as well. When the taps fail to provide water due to the power outage, students are compelled to purchase water from wheelbarrow vendors. This additional burden is not limited to the students on campus but also extends to those residing in the community.

Due to the water scarcity, the usual practice of studying at night has become challenging, and with the upcoming exams just a few weeks away, this situation has become even more critical. The students are appealing for prompt intervention from the responsible authorities to alleviate their plight.
