The Rivers State Police Command announced it has deployed officers to churches, recreational centres, major parks, highways and other other critical locations to ensure a safe and peaceful Easter celebrations in the state.
In line with this, the Command stated that tactical teams and police divisions have been fully mobilised to prevent criminal activities and ensure a swift response to any security threats.
Grace Iringe-Koko, Spokesperson of the state police command, a Chief Superintendent of Police, revealed this in a press statement issued in Port Harcourt on Saturday and made available to journalists.
While noting that the Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju promised residents and visitors its steadfast dedication to the protection of lives and property, she enjoins members of the public to remain vigilant, conduct themselves lawfully.
Iringe-Koko urged the public to collaborate with law security agencies by sharing reliable information quickly, ensuring a prompt response to incidents.
The statement reads, “The Rivers State Police Command, led by the Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, wishes to inform the general public of the robust security measures put in place to ensure a peaceful, safe, and seamless Easter celebration throughout the State.
“In line with this directive, the Command has placed adequate security arrangements, including the strategic deployment of personnel to churches, recreational centres, major highways, motor parks, and other vulnerable points.
“Furthermore, Area Command, Tactical teams and Divisions have been fully mobilized to forestall criminal activities and ensure prompt response to any security threats.
“The Commissioner of Police hereby assures residents and visitors steadfast commitment to the protection of lives and property. He enjoins members of the public to remain vigilant, conduct themselves lawfully, and cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and credible information.”
