Edison Ehie, Chief of Staff to the Rivers State Government, revealed allegations of a bribery attempt to impeach Governor Siminalayi Fubara during a rally in Ahoada East area.

He claimed to have been offered money but refused to disclose the identities of those involved.

Ehie's disclosure sheds light on the ongoing crisis in the state, intertwined with the conflict between Fubara and his predecessor, Minister Nyesom Wike.

The incident adds to the turmoil following last year's invasion and arson at the State House of Assembly, with accusations leveled against individuals with ties to the governor. Ehie's assertion underscores the complexities of political maneuvering in the region
