In the early hours of Sunday, a crisis erupted in the ancient town of Ekosin, located in the Odo-Otin local government area of Osun State, due to the alleged imposition of a traditional ruler.

Reports indicate that members of the Nyanbilolu Ruling House staged a protest, blocking key parts of the town and burning tires.

A community resident disclosed on social media that the unrest began after the Osun State Government presented staff of office to Kasali Olagunju as the Akosin of Ekosin earlier this week.

The affected ruling house expressed their grievances publicly during the Eid-ul-Adha celebrations, opposing the new Akosin's appointment.
