From 12th December 2022 to 22nd January 2023, registered voters can pick up their Permanent Voter’s Cards at any of the country's 774 Independent National Electoral Commission’s local government offices.
The information was made public by the National Commissioner and Chairman Information and Voter Education Committee, Mr. Festus Okoye, on Friday, after a retreat to discuss the collection timetable for the PVCs.
He also said that from the 6th to the 15th of January, 2023, Nigerians could collect their PVC from any of the country's 8,809 Registration Areas or Electoral Wards where they registered, from 9 am to 3 pm daily and on weekends.
However, he noted that persons who might not be able to collect their PVC at the Registration Areas or Electoral Wards from the 6th to the 15th of January 2023 would still be able to pick them up at the Commission's local government offices until the 22nd of January 2023.
He called on Resident Electoral Commissioners to meet with stakeholders like traditional rulers, religious leaders, civil society groups, and community-based organizations in their states and local government areas. The meeting would aim at enlightening the stakeholders on the PVC collection process so that they will, in turn, educate the public about the collection process to have a smooth collection exercise.
The Resident Electoral Commissioners, according to Okoye, are also to create help desks to receive and address complaints about the PVCs or their collection process in real time.
