Policeman Killed, Monarch's Wife And 14 Other Kidnapped In Zamfara

As bandits invade community.

A mobile police officer assigned to the Maru Police Division was killed in an armed bandit attack on the Ruwandoruwa community of Zamfara State's Maru Local Government Area.

The bandits also kidnapped 15 people, including the wife of the community's monarch.

According to reports, the assault occurred around 12:30 a.m. on Monday.

After storming the community, the assailants opened fire indiscriminately, killing the mobile policeman who was fatally shot in front of the district head's residence while attempting to defend the house.

After a failed attempt to abduct the district head, who was nowhere to be found, his wife was kidnapped.

The bandits had yet to contact the community in order to demand a ransom for the abducted people.

As of the time of this writing, the Zamfara State Police Command had not yet responded to the incident.
