Two suspected robbers were saved from an enraged mob by the Bode Thomas Division Officers of the Lagos State Police Command.

This was verified on Wednesday by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson for the State Police Command, in a post on his X account.

According to Hundeyin, the mob became enraged when the suspects and unidentified individuals took a woman's expensive phone.

He claims that at approximately 11 p.m., five young males in a tricycle approached a bystander who was using her expensive phone to make a call. They then snatched the phone from her.

She promptly raised the alarm, causing nearby onlookers to pursue the men. Two were captured and three managed to get away.

When they learned of this, Bode Thomas Division officers hurried to the spot. They got there in time to rescue Junior Olanrewaju (age 21) and Kehinde Olayinka (age 22) from an enraged mob.

Investigations are underway to capture the escaped suspects, he said.
