A bride named Tinene Isa has been arrested by the Katsina State Police Command on allegations of cutting her husband's genitals. In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) yesterday in Katsina, the state's police public relations officer, ASP Abubakar Aliyu, confirmed the arrest and said the event took place in Kafur Local Government Area of the state.

The victim, whose name was withheld by Aliyu, was claimed to be undergoing medical care at the General Hospital, Malumfashi, and was in a severe condition. He claimed that the perpetrator allegedly carried out the act using a razor blade.

“I told you, we are making an investigation into the matter. She is a bride of over 30 years of age, maybe she took a long time before she married, or it is not her first marriage. “I don’t have much details, we will find out all these in our investigations,” he said. He said the suspect would be charged to court for prosecution after investigations.
