Police Arrest Woman Who Allegedly Locked Up Her Grandchildren

It was gathered that she locked up the children for days without food or water.

The Nigerian Police, Lagos State Command, apprehended a grandmother, Fatimo Ganiyu, in the Ikotun area of the state on Friday for allegedly locking up her three grandchildren in a room for days.

The state police public relations officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, who revealed this via his handle on ‘X’, affirmed that vigilant neighbours alerted the police about the circumstances of the children leading to their rescue and the apprehension of the grandmother.

The children, consisting of two boys and a girl, ages two and four, were allegedly locked up for days without water or food at Agodo Egbe in the Ikotun axis of Lagos State.

Hundeyin, who hinted that the investigation into the matter is ongoing, assured that the infants would receive proper care and attention and urged residents of Lagos to report any suspicious activity to the police.
