Several passengers were injured in a late-night collision involving two Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) buses on Tuesday, August 27, in the Iyana Ipaja area of Lagos State.

The incident occurred on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, near Danco Filling Station, when one bus swerved to avoid a commercial motorcyclist who was illegally using the BRT corridor, resulting in a collision with another bus.

According to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, the injured passengers were quickly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

Fortunately, there were no reported fatalities. Nosa Okunbor, head of the public affairs unit of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), confirmed that the passengers sustained varying degrees of injuries and were already en route to medical facilities before the emergency response team arrived.

In response to the accident, two tow trucks were dispatched to remove the damaged buses from the scene to facillitate a return to normal traffic flow.
