Osun Urges Adeleke to Release White Paper on Igbajo Chieftaincy

Residents of Igbajo, the hometown of the former chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Boluwaduro Local Government, Osun State, have appealed to Governor Ademola Adeleke to release the white paper on the review and assessment committee he set up to look into the chieftaincy matter of the ancient town. 

Adeleke had made the thrones of Akirun of Ikirun, Area of Iree, and the Owa of Igbajo, which had been held by the former chairman of the APC, Oba Gboyega Famodun, vacant.

In the Igbajo Development Association (IDA)'s letter of congratulations to the governor, the resident noted that they had maintained their peace ever since the committee was established.

Mr. Sola Fanowopo, president of the IDA, and Chief Olabode Adeniyi, as well as Chief Adegboyega Awomolo SAN, as Asiwaju of Igbajoland, urged the governor to keep the promises he made to the town during his campaign.

“We promised our unwavering support and solidarity to your administration while requesting that our town should not be left behind in the distribution and citing of your electoral promises and dividend of democracy, as a community known for hard work, diligence, peace-loving, and commitment to development through communal efforts.

"Along these lines, we appeal to Your Excellency to, if it's not too much trouble, discharge the white paper on the survey and appraisal of a few customary stools which impacted our town.

“We have ensured the observance of peace, justice, and tranquility in the town during the review period as we are known for being a peace-loving community.

"At last, we will need to speak to your organization for the culmination of the excess two kilometers) out of the around fifteen kilometers) Ada-Igbajo street which the last organization vowed to finish while additionally looking for your organization's help and help towards the subsidizing of the Igbajo Polytechnic which constantly is the first Government Supported People group Polytechnic in Nigeria," the letter expressed.
