Osun Police Nab Man Attempting To Traffic Teenagers To Lybia

Three of the victims escaped and contacted their parents, according to the police spokesperson, while the fourth victim's whereabouts are still unknown.

Osun State Police Order on Monday said its agents have captured a thought human dealer, Muideen Adebisi, while he was attempting to move four young ladies from Ile-Ife to Libya.

Yemisi Opalola, the spokesperson for the Command, said in a statement that the suspect had invited the victims to a birthday party in Ile-Ife and provided them with food and drinks.

Opalola went on to say that after eating and drinking, the four teenagers fell asleep and only awoke at a Kano location where they were getting papers to travel to Libya.

Three of the victims escaped and contacted their parents, according to the police spokesperson, while the fourth victim's whereabouts are still unknown.

"The suspect (Muideen Adebisi), invited the young girls to a birthday party at a hotel in Ile-Ife and gave them food and drinks," the statement continued. The girls ate and drank, then went to sleep before getting up in Kano State on their way to Tripoli, Libya's capital.

The statement further read, “The suspect (Muideen Adebisi), invited the young girls to a birthday party at a hotel in Ile-Ife and gave them food and drinks. After taking the food and drinks, the girls slept off and later woke up in Kano State en route to Tripoli, the capital of Libya. 

“Three of the girls escaped miraculously in Kano and called their parents, who reported the matter to the police.

“Three of the girls have been reunited with their families, but the whereabouts of the fourth girl were not known at the time of filing this report.”

According to the police, Adebisi insisted on the four girls agreeing to work in Libya during the interrogation.

She continued by stating that Adebisi informed the police that his brother, who resides in Tripoli, instructed him to take girls and deliver them to a man in Kano, who would then transport them to Libya.

She says that Adebisi also told the police that when he got to the man's house in Kano, he met a lot of girls who were getting ready to go to Libya.

Additionally, Opalola stated that the suspect would be brought before a judge in due course and promised a thorough investigation.
