The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chapter in Osun State has dismissed the rumour that the state's governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, intended to leave the party as false and baseless.
The PDP called on Osun voters to turn out in force and support PDP candidates on March 11 in a statement released over the weekend and signed by its acting chairman, Dr Akindele. The PDP said that the APC's rumour was a failed distraction plan.
Moreover, he emphasized that the PDP will replicate the same accomplishment on March 11 by winning all twenty-six assembly seats in the state, as Governor Adeleke's continued commitment to the PDP was proved in the Presidential and National Assembly elections.
The statement posed, “Let me urge the public to discard the rumour of defection. There is no reason for it, especially given the impressive victory he led the PDP to just a few days ago at the Presidential and National Assembly elections in Osun State.
“Osun APC is badly decimated and is struggling to even find its feet. Governor Adeleke has within 100 days proved that good governance is possible, hence the massive goodwill the PDP currently enjoys across the state. So voters should ignore the lies from the pit of hell. Governor Adeleke remains a PDP leader and Governor.”
