Ayinke, a nine-year-old girl, was discovered wandering a farm in Osun State.

The girl was found abandoned on Fasugba farmland along Ilesa-Ife Express Road, according to a statement released by the state government through the Ministry of Women, Children, and Social Affairs.

A good Samaritan found the girl abandoned in the bush, according to the statement that was signed on Wednesday by Modupe Irelewuyi, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry.

"The abandoned girl's case, who was discovered in the bush had earlier been reported at the Nigeria Police Station, Osu, Atakunmosa West Local Government Area, Osun State before notifying the Ministry," the statement states.

The statement asked people who knew anything about Ayinka to help find her parents if they knew where they might be.
